Building Permit

A Building Permit is required for new construction, structural alterations, additions, remodeling projects, or demolition within Hartford Township. This includes residential, commercial, and accessory structures such as garages, decks, sheds, and additions.

An Electrical Permit is required for the installation, modification, or repair of electrical systems. This includes new wiring, service panel upgrades, generator connections, circuit installations, and other electrical improvements.

A Mechanical Permit is required for the installation, replacement, or modification of mechanical systems such as furnaces, air conditioning units, ventilation systems, ductwork, boilers, and other HVAC-related equipment.

A Zoning Permit is required for projects involving land use changes, new construction, accessory buildings, structural additions, fences, or changes in how a property is used. This permit verifies that the proposed project complies with Hartford Township zoning ordinances, including setback requirements, lot coverage, and permitted uses.

A Plumbing Permit is required for the installation, alteration, or repair of plumbing systems. This includes water supply lines, sewer connections, drainage systems, fixtures, water heaters, and related plumbing components.

Permits are also required for Garage, Yard and Rummage Sales. The cost is $5.00 and may be completed and paid at the Township Hall on Mondays from 4:30 p.m. – 6:30 p.m. and Wednesdays 1:30 p.m. – 3:30 p.m.
